Woof, Oink, Growl...
I'm afraid you won't find any exotic animals in my repertoire. I just do animals that have the possibility of being round and pudgy and somewhat domesticated. (although Mr. Bear doesn't quite think of himself as tame). The reason I like pudgy is that clay doesn't lend itself very well to long, thin legs. High fired stoneware clay is durable, but even still, thin appendages tend to be a little fragile. I want my sculptures to be around a long time so I make them sturdy. The animal bowls are a fairly new addition, I've been doing them since 2007. I like the idea of having a clay piece on a dinner table that is fun, but functional as well.
