Clay People.....
<------- My very own Maid of Clay. She was one sculpture I couldn't bear to part with and she became the symbol for my store. Next to sculpting cats, sculpting faces is my next favorite. Although my faces are more stylistic as opposed to realistic, I do try to imbue them with a little bit of attitude. This bust is over a foot high, but many of my other busts are very small - only about 3". It gives me the chance to be a little frivolous with a character without investing a lot of time into the venture. I normally build a piece from solid clay and then hollow it out afterwards.
The head sculpture below is actually a whistle & rattle, while the head to the right is a rattle.
